My work has appeared online and in print, won awards, and languished unread in drawers. I’ve blogged, read poetry in smoky back rooms, and filled notebooks with spells and dreams I’m too frightened to revisit.
In other words, I’m a writer.
I am the author of three books, the forthcoming This is a Love Song, as well as It’s a Lot to Unpack and There’s Some Place Like Home: Lessons From a Decade Abroad, hundreds of essays, and two novels which may, or may not, see the light of day. I also write excellent birthday cards.
I believe that stories are the way we connect with one another and the world around us. I love stringing together the sentences that make those connections happen. Sometimes I get pearls, sometimes plastic Mardi Gras beads.
In other words, I’m a writer.
“Let’s call it a love song to a firefly generation. An ode to feet on the door jambs, the phone cord winding from toe to thigh. A poem to handheld tape recorders, boom boxes, and the small thrill of hitting Record at the perfect moment.”
“Like the Memorex, Honour taps into the nostalgia of many through her beautiful recording of Gen X memories in this book.”
